Podcast Producer

Based in the Pacific Northwest

I'm Mia, an award-winning podcast producer living in Bellingham, Washington. I learned how to make audio stories at UC Berkeley’s Advanced Media Institute and have produced shows about visual design, sustainability, and ‘90s R&B, among other topics.

I got my start in audio by making Places, a narrative podcast about culture and opportunity in small towns. My reporting has taken me to the surf scene on Lake Superior, a solar project in a former coal town, and to the home of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

I’m passionate about writing for the ear, building immersive soundscapes, and telling stories about the American West.

In previous lives, I developed educational science content for students and wrote about music for a San Francisco newsweekly. When I’m not working on stories, you can find me snowboarding at Mount Baker, paddling in the Salish Sea, or hiking in the Cascades with my husband and dog.
